MANAGEMENT TEAM

Mr. Vuohelainen Risto Vuohelainen has over fifteen years of extensive international experience in management with almost a decade in electronics manufacturing industry in global management positions. Hecomes to Canatu from the leading electronics manufacturing company, Elcoteq, where he was Vice President responsible for the home electronics business and major accounts in Europe and Americas. Previously, he was the Managing Director of the water treatment start-up Waterix and the Vice President of Aspocomp, then Europe´s second largest PCB manufacturer.

Dr. Brown has been the CEO of Teicos Pharma, Particle Stream Technologies and StreamWise Finland, a Senior Research Scientist at the Helsinki University of Technology, a Fulbright Fellow and an engineering consultant to companies and research institutes worldwide. He is a leading expert in the modeling, design and scaling of synthesis reactors and deposition and characterization systems. He has a PhD in Environmental Engineering and an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from the University of Cincinnati and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Kärkkäinen has held various positions as an early stage venture catalyst for a wide range of emerging high-tech businesses in the Finnish innovation environment. Mr. Kärkkäinen joined Canatu in 2007 from the Helsinki School of Creative Entrepreneurship. He holds a M.S. (Econ.) with a focus on Managerial Accounting from the Helsinki School of Economics.

Mr. Aitchison has a multi-disciplinary background commercializing Thin Film Deposition, Material Characterization, Display Technology, Optical Coatings. Mr. Aitchison has an M.S in Materials Science from UCLA and a B.A. in Physics from Willamette.

Dr. Soininen has 20 years of experience in global electronics business. Before joining Canatu, he held various sales, business development, and technology management positions in Elcoteq, a global electronics manufacturing company. Prior to that, he worked for a display manufacturing company Planar System in R&D and business development. Mr. Soininen holds a Dr. Technology (PhD) degree from the Helsinki University of Technology in Finland.
